We continue the Meet the Worlds 2013 selection series with the Women’s selection from France.
Valentine Sabatou
Valentine Sabatou, 16 (17 on September 8th) from Paris began gymnastics in 1999 and currently trains at Élan Gymnique Rouennais. She made the National Team in 2009 and was a member of the team which placed 5th at the 2012 European Championships. She has not competed too much on the International scene just yet, competing at the 2012 Doha World Cup (8th floor) as well as some friendly competitions here and there. Mostly recently she competed at the 2013 Mediterranean Games. Here she helped the French team place 2nd behind Italy, took silver on Floor in the Event Finals and bronze in the All Around. Here she is competing on Bars in the Team Qualification at the 2012 ECh’s:
Mira Boumejmajen
18 year old Mira has been a member of the French National team since 2011 and first competed internationally in 2009. Like Sabatou, she trains at Élan Gymnique Rouennais. Mira has a few international competitions under her belt including one Olympic Games and two European Championships (2010 and 2009). She was a team alternate for the crucial 2012 World Championships. She was a member of the team who competed at the London 2012 Olympics, placing 11th after she was drafted into the Squad to replace the injured Marine Brevet.
